Severely brain injured
in an auto accident in 1998, Tommy Weese carves Reminders
in a small, sawdust covered shop out in the
wilds of Washington State.

Mystified
as to just what a Reminder
is? Listen to Tommy's intriguing description:
Reminders
are
"Captive Ring Sculptures." In essence,
they are "two beads connected by a stem, with rings
surrounding the stem cut from the same piece of wood."
A modified form of the age-old child's rattle, they likewise
fascinate adults (particularly ADHDers).
Reminders,
being hand-carved, naturally vary in size, but may be as
small as 1 1/2" long, with a stem width of 1/16".
Reminders
are made from a variety of woods, including bocote, cherry, apple,
cocobolo, maple, and more.
Reminders
make a soft, ear-pleasing "shunk" as the rings click against one
another.
Reminders
symbolize life's journey:
Tracing a path from one end to another, one comes across natural
variations (similar to life's up's and down's).
Occasionally, one encounters a "ring," an ufexpected
change in one's life - representing a happy or possibly painful
time. And, as with life, one ultimately reaches the end of the
sculpture.
Reminders
are unique and spirit-filled. "I guess I believe that
in life, God is the Craftsman. In the case of a Reminder,
it is I who am the craftsman... Each of my Reminders
is unique, and I try, by touching the Reminder in
various ways as I fashion it, to instill within it, some of my
spirit."
Tommy
is a wonderfully skilled craftsman. Being hand-carved,
his Reminders vary in size, shape, and wood type. Let us
