Shop by health condition

Below is a list of health problems / limitations frequently associated with brain injury.  Glance over the list.  When you find a topic of interest, click on it to see product suggestions.

Categories will naturally overlap.  Not all items are available (yet) at B Independent.

General Information

Don't be ruled by chaos!  Memory and organizational problems are not included in the above list, though these accompany almost all brain injuries.  Helpful aids are available.  Look in Med Aids, Organizers, and Timekeepers.

Generally useful items can be found in any of our Support departments.  Although only some of these products are designed to overcome specific difficulties, all are sturdy and easy to use.

Live Smart

You don't always need special equipment to deal with a limitation. Sometimes simply changing the way you do something can solve the problem.  For instance,
bullet

Buy wrinkle-resistant clothes so you don't have to iron.

bullet

Prepare meals in advance so you don't have to cook when tired.

bullet

If getting into/out of the bath is difficult, shower instead.

Actions quickly become automatic.  By rethinking old habits, however, you may discover alternatives that are quicker, easier, or less exhausting.
